Favela Tour

What means “Favela”? Previously, it was the name of usury plant, that is found in dry steppe landscapes in the inland of northern Brazil … but the rest I’ll tell only on the tour! They used this name for 90 years, to name a slum; but you should say COMUNIDADE nowadays! So if you want to get to know not only the famous sights of Rio, but also some less vaunted pages and places, then please contact me!
We have many opportunities to visit the “favelas”, in the North or South Zone. More than 5 years ago, these poor neighborhoods were occupied of what we call “peace police” UPP. All drug dealers were arrested or expelled from there. Nowadays, there are no more shootings and violence in these areas and the inhabitants can live in peace. Most are located on the hills and therefore these communities enjoy the most beautiful view of the city. In this tour, I can offer several things simultaneously: Special place to take the most wonderful pictures, foot hikes in the tropical nature and an insight into the life of common people.
