Rainforest walks in the National Park or hiking up to the Hills with the best view.
Another alternative tour, which I always like to offer, because I really enjoy it, is the walk in the Tijuca Forest in the NATIONAL PARK. It extends over 4.000 hectares and it is the largest city forest in the world, or just called the “green lung Rios”. Here we find numerous pleasant walking trails, equestrian paths from the former empire that provide no great demands on the visitor. We also can see the flora and fauna and with some luck we see the animals of the forest. Depending on the tour, it takes between 4 to 6 hours.
If you want to climb the highest hills in the city, I do recommend the cooler months from April to October, and even in this season, it’s quite warm! We have a lot of options: PICO da TIJUCA or Bico de PAPAGAIO, Two brothers – DOIS IRMÃOS and the wonderful stone – PEDRA BONITA, etc.
